Since September 1, 2025, businesses with fewer than 250 employees can be shielded from punitive damages after a breach if they maintained a qualifying cybersecurity program. It doesn’t prevent lawsuits or limit other damages. See how we assess it.
TRAIGA, the Texas AI law
In effect since January 1, 2026. Obligations for most private businesses are narrow, and following the NIST AI Risk Management Framework is an affirmative defense.
